1. Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

Discord username and avatar (if you link your Discord account)

We store the search monitors you create, including:

Search keywords and filters
Price ranges and condition
Discord webhook URLs for notifications

1.3 Usage data

We automatically collect certain information when you use eSnipe:

Pages viewed and features used
Listing clicks and interactions
Device type and browser information
IP address (for security purposes)

1.4 Device and browser characteristics

On your first visit, and periodically on later visits, we collect a technical profile of the device and browser you are using and send it to TBU Pro, an affiliated service we also operate. The profile contains:

Browser user agent, version, platform, vendor, and language preferences
Screen and window dimensions, color depth, and pixel ratio
CPU core count and approximate device memory
Graphics hardware identifiers, capabilities, and settings reported by WebGL
Rendering fingerprints — a short digest of how your device draws a test image and processes a test tone
Network connection type and estimated speed, and available browser storage
Display preferences such as dark mode, reduced motion, color range, and pointer type
Your time zone
Your IP address, recorded by the receiving server

Combined, these values act as a device fingerprint — an identifier derived from your hardware and software configuration rather than from a cookie. Unlike a cookie, it can persist across private-browsing windows and after you clear your browser storage. We use it to understand the range of devices that reach eSnipe and for related technical research.

This profile is not linked to your eSnipe account. The request carries no cookies or login state, and the process does not collect page URLs, referrers, or location data.

The two rendering fingerprints deserve a plain explanation, because their names sound worse than they are. The first draws a fixed test image on a hidden canvas and sends only a short digest of the result — never the image, and never anything from the page you are viewing. The second synthesizes a test tone internally and digests the output. Neither one accesses your camera or microphone, and no audio or video is recorded at any point.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the eSnipe service
Send you notifications about matching eBay listings
Improve and personalize your experience
Communicate with you about service updates
Ensure security and prevent fraud
Comply with legal obligations

3. eBay Partner Network

eSnipe participates in the eBay Partner Network, an affiliate advertising program. When you click on eBay links through our service, we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. This affiliate tracking:

Does not affect the prices you pay on eBay
Helps us keep the service free for users
Uses tracking parameters in links to attribute purchases

4. Discord integration

When you provide a Discord webhook URL, we use it solely to send you notifications about new eBay listings. We do not:

Access your Discord messages or servers
Store any Discord data beyond what you provide
Share your webhook URL with third parties

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

Service providers — trusted third parties who assist in operating our service (e.g., hosting, email).
Legal requirements — when required by law or to protect our rights.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger or acquisition.
TBU Pro — an affiliated service we operate, which receives the device and browser profile described in section 1.4.

6. Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption, secure servers, and regular security audits. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through your profile settings or by contacting us.

The device profiles described in section 1.4 are stored without a fixed retention period. Because they are not tied to an account, deleting your eSnipe account does not remove them — contact us using the details in section 12 to request their deletion.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access your personal data

Delete your data
Export your data
Object to certain processing

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

eSnipe is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
